Dear Pastor and Church Family,

The last two months have brought both joy and trial, forward motion and unexpected pause—but through it all, the Gospel remains central. Thank you for being faithful partners in the Great Commission. Your prayers and support are helping us reach the next generation, strengthen churches, and make Christ known across the world.

Marriage Ministry and Missions: A Shared Ministry

In May, Kim and I had the opportunity to speak together at a couples’ retreat in Virginia. We shared truths from God’s Word and our own journey of walking together in ministry. It was a joy to serve side by side and see how the Lord ministered to those who attended. This shared time of investment reminded us again that strong homes build strong churches—and strong churches send missionaries.

A Dream Realized: Color the World Missions Curriculum

Also in May, a long-held desire became reality: Kim and I began to ship our first Color the World coloring book and curriculum for children. What began as a vision to create biblically sound and engaging missions tools for children has now become a full-fledged resource. Churches across the country are already using this in Vacation Bible Schools and Sunday School classes.

The Color the World activity book, written for K4 through 5th grade, is far more than a coloring book. It introduces children to the nations of the world, teaches missions principles, and challenges them to pray for and support missionaries. We are currently preparing the 6th–8th grade curriculum and have completed the manuscripts. We are also developing 13-week studies for teens and adults under the same theme. These resources will help churches promote missions in the weeks leading up to or following a missions conference. We praise God for the fruit that is already coming from this work.

Gospel Partnerships in the Middle East

In May, Kim and I also met with key ministry partners from the Middle East during a strategic gathering. These conversations advanced both the administrative and missional components of our partnerships in this spiritually needy region. We are making progress in helping national believers and local churches reach their communities with the Gospel.

Challenging the Next Generation

I had the privilege of speaking at two high school graduations during this season. What an honor it was to deliver the final chapel message to graduating seniors, urging them to pursue Christ, live on mission, and consider how their lives can count for the cause of Christ around the world. These were not ceremonial moments—they were opportunities to shape hearts at a decisive season of life.

Faithful Churches and Long-Term Partnerships

Each year, I return to Memorial Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida, for their Missions Conference. Pastor Danny Whetstone and I shared the preaching responsibilities again this year. This faithful church continues to hold the rope for missionaries around the world. They not only met their missions goal but exceeded it—clear evidence that their heartbeat for the Great Commission remains strong.

Scotland: Evangelism and Spiritual Warfare

In June, I was unexpectedly called to make a trip to Scotland and serve alongside Cody Carden. God used two weeks of Gospel labor to reach hearts. The first week focused on door-to-door evangelism, distributing copies of John and Romans to hundreds of homes. The second week centered on evangelistic services in a tent meeting format. I preached seven times at the host church, with each message focused on the theme of spiritual warfare—a reality keenly felt in this part of the world. God gave help, strength, and fruit from those efforts.

A Setback and a Season of Recovery

On the final night of the Scotland meetings, I suffered a fall while helping pack away the meeting tent. I stepped out of a shipping container and snapped my ankle. I am now home recovering and expect to resume active ministry by mid-August. While this interruption was not part of my plan, I am resting in God’s sovereignty and using this time to write, record, and raise awareness for the work of the Great Commission. As a result, I was unable to take my Micronesia trip. I am rescheduling that. Additionally, since May, I have been receiving monthly injections in my eye to address a vein occlusion unrelated to the fall. Please pray for a smooth and full recovery.

Thank you for standing with us. In the pulpit or in a cast, we remain committed to proclaiming the whole counsel of God and equipping churches to reach the world for Christ. Your prayers, your giving, and your friendship make it possible.

Yours for the harvest,

John O’Malley

March, April 2025

Dear Pastor and Church Family,

God filled these past two months with reminders that He is worthy—not only of our praise, but of our full devotion in taking the Gospel to the world. As your missionary representative through World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions, I am grateful for your continued partnership. Your prayers and support are fueling real work in real places, with eternal results.

Family Fellowship Week: From the Nations, for His Name

In April, we welcomed more than one hundred of our missionaries, family members, and guests from around the world to our Annual Family Fellowship Week. They came from Cambodia to the Carolinas—a global representation of what God is doing through our mission family. This year’s theme, “Worthy,” centered our hearts on the worthiness of God in every area of life and ministry. Every sermon, every testimony, every song pointed us back to the greatness of our God and the urgency of the Great Commission.

I am deeply thankful for our mission staff, who labored diligently behind the scenes to make this meeting a time of true spiritual strengthening and joyful fellowship. The fruit of this meeting will be seen in souls reached, churches planted, and missionaries helped around the world.

See the Harvest: Mobilizing the Next Generation

March also brought key developments in our See the Harvest ministry. This initiative introduces young people to the mission field by putting their feet on the ground in another culture. In March, we sent a team to Grenada under the capable leadership of Bro. Cody Carden, who is now directing the See the Harvest ministry. In June, he will lead another team to Scotland. These trips are more than experiences—they are catalysts. They help young people see the world as Christ sees it, and many return home with a clearer vision of their role in missions. We've seen students enrolled in college get involved in their churches, engage in soul-winning activities, and bring people to Christ, as well as head to the mission field as a result of traveling with our teams. If your church is interested in achieving similar results, please don't hesitate to contact me.

One church in Virginia embraced this vision in a powerful way. After hearing the burden and seeing the need, they gave a generous gift to help more young people take their first steps onto the mission field. Their investment is helping us raise up the next generation of senders and goers.

Preaching the Word, Strengthening the Church

I continued my preaching ministry in several churches during March and April. In one particular missions conference in Georgia, the Lord moved in a special way. I preached a series from 1 Corinthians on the believer’s role in the local church. The book of 1 Corinthians confronts carnality with clarity and calls God’s people to live distinct lives of Gospel hope. It was a joy to see how the Spirit used His Word to stir hearts and renew purpose.

At the close of April, I preached at a faithful, supporting church whose pastor passed away late last year. I rejoiced to see that their heart for missions remains strong—not tied to a personality, but grounded in the eternal truth of Scripture. Their legacy continues through obedience to God’s Word.

Writing to Build and Equip

In between meetings, I continued my writing ministry. I recently completed two books:

A study through 1 Corinthians, helping believers navigate the tension between church life and a carnal world.

A discipleship resource titled "The Miracle of Salvation," which outlines 27 life-changing events that occur the moment a person is saved. It is already being used to ground new believers in the faith and remind seasoned saints of the depth of their salvation.

A Personal Note

The Lord also gave us time in March to be with our granddaughter—a precious reminder that ministry is both public and personal. We want to serve Christ well in every role He has given us.

Thank you again for standing with us. Your investment is bearing fruit in churches strengthened, missionaries equipped, and the Gospel proclaimed. May we remain faithful—because our God is worthy.

Yours for the harvest,

John O’Malley

January, February 2025

Dear Pastor and Church Family,

The first two months of this year have reminded me again that Gospel ministry flows from relationships—both the ones we treasure from years past and the new ones God is forming today. I am grateful for the sacred trust you place in me through your faithful prayers and financial support. You are enabling a ministry that strengthens missionaries, trains churches, and brings Christ to the nations.

Returning to Grenada: A Ministry Root Remembered

January began with a deeply meaningful trip to Grenada—the island where much of my own missionary story began. I had the privilege of honoring the life and legacy of Missionary Robert Mathena, a faithful servant who labored for decades to plant and strengthen churches across Grenada. I traveled with his sending pastor to attend and speak at his funeral. It was a time of remembering God’s faithfulness through Robert’s life and encouraging the churches he helped establish. The conversations I had with pastors and believers on the island reminded me that missions work leaves lasting fruit long after the laborer is gone.

Strengthening Churches at Home

Upon returning stateside, I participated in several Missions Sundays throughout the Southeast. Each one was a fresh reminder that the Great Commission is alive in local churches. I saw churches sacrifice, give, and commit to sending laborers into the harvest. One such investment included a church launching support for a new missionary appointee—Jedidiah Bickmore—who will be going to Bulgaria. I had the joy of participating in Jedidiah’s missionary interview as he begins the deputation journey.

Gospel Partnerships and New Missionaries

February included another funeral—this one marking the homegoing of a dear friend. Even in that sorrow, the Gospel’s power to comfort and call others to eternal hope was evident. In the same month, I met with a new missionary applicant and his pastor as they prepare to join our mission family later this year. These meetings are a significant part of my role—helping pastors and missionaries navigate the call, the process, and the partnership of missions.

Training and Mobilizing the Next Generation

I also spoke at a missionary prayer band at Ambassador Baptist College—a key opportunity to shape the hearts of young people for missions. Being with students reminds me that missions will not move forward unless we train and mobilize the next generation. These are not just moments on a calendar; they are investments in eternity.

Faith Commitments and Local Encouragement

Late February took me to a powerful missions conference where God moved in remarkable ways. Nearly $400,000 was committed in Faith Promise giving—evidence of God’s work in the hearts of His people. I closed out the month by preaching the missions conference at our home church. Being with our sending church was both humbling and refreshing.

Preparing for Family Fellowship Week

During these two months, I also worked behind the scenes with our staff to prepare for our Annual Family Fellowship Week—a time where our missionaries gather for preaching, fellowship, and encouragement. Your support allows us to continue strengthening the hearts of those serving on the field.

Thank you for praying and giving. The work of missions is advancing, and your part in it matters more than you know. Please continue to pray for strength, wisdom, and gospel fruit as I represent you and our Lord in this work.

Yours for the harvest,

John M O'Malley

Second Quarter 2024

Summer 2024

Dear Praying Friend,

See. Learn. Do. These three words define the mission of World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions’ mission trip ministry: See the Harvest. Every church member deserves the opportunity to take a mission trip in obedience to the Great Commission. God placed See the Harvest on my heart as a bridge between the pews of local churches and the mission field.

This year marked the fifth trip for See the Harvest. I led over two dozen people to Scotland, where we distributed Scripture, held special meetings for adults and children, and evangelized in the city and metropolitan area of Dumfries. We brought John and Romans, gospel tracts, and church invitations to over 20,000 homes. This trip was a profound experience, yielding results that will echo in eternity for the travelers and the people of Scotland. Hearts that were once hardened and devoid of Scripture were touched by our obedience to our Lord’s command to go. We trust that He will increase the amount.

We plan to lead trips to New York City, Scotland, the Dominican Republic, Croatia, and Atlanta in the next two years. I encourage you to motivate your congregation to participate in these mission trips. You can find more details at SeetheHarvest.com.

Thank you for your prayers, your giving, and your sacrifices. Your prayers sustained us through the challenges and victories of these missions. We are truly grateful for your vital role in our mission's success.

In June, between the two trips to Scotland, I traveled to Egypt, where I spoke at a pastors’ conference on the dangers of Pentecostalism. Kim joined me in Egypt as she had financial accounting work to do for WWNTBM among over 40 national pastors. The meeting was fruitful and well-received.

I spoke at Camp Barnabas, a ministry camp connected to Ambassador Baptist College in July. I challenged fifteen ministry-minded campers to dedicate their lives to God in missionary service.

Today, August 21, Kim and I are heading to Canada. World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions has an office there, and World Wide of Canada assists Canadian churches and donors through our partnership. We will be meeting with our leadership and administrative partners during our visit.

I will travel to Jordan in December to speak at a Baptist seminary on missions. I am excited about this opportunity, as it will be the second time this year that God has allowed me to minister at the seminary level. The Great Commission calls us to go, evangelize, and train.

Your support has enabled me to travel to Scotland three times this year, as well as to Egypt and, later this year, to Jordan. I could only go, evangelize, or train with your support. Please continue to pray for God’s provision in our work, safety in our travels, and effectiveness in our leadership. We hope that we may be a blessing to our missionaries and prospective missionaries.

Yours for the harvest,

John O'Malley

First Quarter -- 2024

First Quarter, 2024

Dear Praying Friend,

Serving the Lord, preaching the Gospel, and encouraging missionaries is exciting. During the year's opening weeks, God allowed Kim and I to serve our missionary’s practical, financial, and spiritual needs. Every week, we work with missionaries to encourage their heart, remind them of their calling, and hold them up in prayer. Your support, both in prayers and financially, is not just important; it is the backbone of our work. It means your missionaries have an Aaron and Hur to uphold a missionary's arms, and because of you, we can continue to spread the Gospel. Your prayers and contributions are truly invaluable.

I am planning our See the Harvest trip. This year, I am leading two dozen people from a dozen churches to Scotland in June. I am leading two trips to Scotland with two dozen people from a dozen churches who will come with me to distribute 30,000 John and Romans door-to-door. The anticipation for this mission is high, and we can't wait to see what God has in store for us.

After ten days of letterboxing, we will hold three different Gospel outreach events: several evening Gospel meetings, a one-day community outreach in a central park, and a multi-day Vacation Bible School event. Each effort is designed to reach the population of greater Dumfries, Scotland.

Could you pray God will meet the need for these trips in June? Also, I need a financial answer to prayer to ship 30,000 John and Romans to Scotland.

I assisted nine churches in their Faith Promise goals. This aspect of our ministry is in the spirit of Luther Rice in the days of William Carey. Luther kept the funds coming for Carey as he served in place. We saw one church’s Faith Promise commitment exceed $350,000.00. Our God is worthy!

God let me preach on the same evening with two younger men called to the ministry. I rarely consider myself the Older Preacher, but I was this night. I am grateful God calls men to the ministry to serve Him. This picture reminds me of God's goodness in serving the Lord.

In March, I taught Seminary Students on Biblical Missions at the Independent Baptist Seminary in Dover, Delaware. I loved this opportunity to train future ministry leaders.

Brethren, Pray for us!

Yours for the harvest,

John O'Malley

Final Letters of the Year

August to December, 2023

Dear Praying Friend,

Your faithfulness in supporting and praying for me has outstripped my writing and reporting in the last four months. Thank you for your patience and graciousness. For many of you, I did not make the quota of letters in the last five months of the year. Please accept the unusual lengthiness of this letter.

August:

God allowed me to assist with another missions agency, the Armed Forces Baptist Mission, by teaching, preaching, and consulting. This agency assists US Military personnel with their Gospel needs.

The office staff at World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions gathered for a day of training held on the Ambassador Baptist College campus. We used this time for staff training, reconnecting after the summer, and focusing on closing out the year. We invited the head of the missions department to join part of our meeting to discuss SeeTheHarvest.com trips. We also asked Cody Carden, my intern from the Summer, to attend. Cody will assist me with See the Harvest beginning next year.

September:

World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions added a new missions family to our family. Brother Stephen Minion. The Minions will serve in Brazil.

I spoke at several mission conferences during the month. God allowed me to talk to future missionaries about missionary service.

October:

Kim and I got COVID. We recovered well and were back at work for Kim and on the road for me after quarantine. I spoke at a supporting church in Delaware with our missionary to the deaf in Philadelphia, Matt and Colleen Dundon. Matt is serving the Lord, evangelizing the lost, and planting a church amongst the thousands of deaf in this vital East Coast city.

I assisted our missionaries with counsel, advice, and prayers.

Missionary to the deaf: Matt Dundon

November:

I spoke with and to college students about missionary service at Ambassador Baptist College. I talked to the general assembly of the student body and one-to-one about See the Harvest and World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions. These seed-sowing conversations are the first steps a student takes toward missionary service.

I spoke at Mount Abarim Baptist church in Cuernavaca, Mexico. My friend, Pastor Alex Ramirez, allowed me to speak at their mission conference. Mount Abarim is doing great evangelistic work in supporting missions, sending out their missionaries, and evangelizing their city.

December:

I visited India to visit our people in Bangalore and the surrounding areas. I brought my friend, Duey Whitfield. Brother Whitfield is a church planter to the Spanish-speaking people in the USA. This was his first trip to the country with the largest population in the world.  We visited a village church in Southern India. The Pastor and congregation honored us with a garland of Sandalwood and Turmeric. They also gave a shawl of welcome, which you see in the photos.

I accomplished a vital task for World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions, working with the Government of India’s accounting requirements in legally bringing and accounting for the support to our people who serve there.

In Conclusion:

Throughout the year, God allowed me to share the Gospel from the pulpit and in personal conversations. I rejoice with those who trusted Him and for those submissive hearts to the call of missions.

Kim and I will spend Christmas and hope to receive our granddaughter, Sidney Clare, right after Christmas.

Thank you for your prayers, patience, and support.

Yours for the harvest,

John O'Malley

July 2023 Prayer Letter

July 2023

Dear Praying Friend,

I appreciate your investments in the Gospel with your support of our ministry.

You may remember I mentioned I would have a student intern who would travel with me. His name is Cody Carden. He is an Ambassador Baptist College student. He will graduate this academic year.

In July, Brother Carden and I visited seven World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions’ families in Mexico. We spent time seeing their ministry, strengthening the brethren, and learning about the work God has them doing. We listened as they shared their dreams and disappointments. We watched their sacrifices and successes. We heard their hope and their motivation for serving in their struggles. Three weeks later, Brother Carden and I left with a deep appreciation for these laborers and their labors.

Thank you for praying and giving to help me strengthen these missionaries. Thank you also for praying for our safety. God was good to us.

One evening this month, Brother Carden and I went to a Migrant Camp where they picked blueberries. The workers labor 12 hours. After work, the Ortiz family goes to the migrant camp and has a preaching service. Brother Carden preached a message on Hell. God touched many hearts with His word.

Brother Kevin Taylor is planting a church and has an addiction ministry. What a joy it was to speak to the men in the Hope House who are facing their sins, dealing with their past, and setting their focus on the future. One evening, for their midweek service, I spoke under a tent. I saw God working in people’s hearts.

Brother Cody and I visited Miss Elsa Ramirez; she’s worked in missions in Spain, France, and Mexico over the past decades. We saw the people with whom she worked and those she served in the church.

We also visited Brother Stephen Villareal. I praise the Lord for his labors in the hard places. He has two areas where he and Anelly bring the Gospel each week. I spoke for him in the church and another Gospel preaching point. He serves in a red where Satan holds people in captivity. Despite Satan’s work, God is saving souls.

We got to visit Brother Jerry Shaw and his family. His mother, the widow of Jerry Shaw Sr., was in the USA receiving medical treatment. Brother Shaw and Itzen are working in church planting, leading in the Bible college, and raising a family. I met Itzen’s parents and Jerry’s sister during our visit.

We also spent time with Salvador Lara, an American missionary with World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions. Sal assists Jerry Shaw in every aspect of their ministry and is helping with a church plant in a nearby city. He needs support. Please pray for him.

Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for assisting us.

We have a great need in the missions’ agency office building due to recent flooding that insurance would not cover. The entire first level of our mission office is unusable at present. The flooding affected an apartment that provides respite for missionaries, an office area and conference room used by national missionaries, and a kitchen used by staff and missionaries alike.

After consulting with leaders who know construction work, we called a company to remove the flooring, a large portion of the drywall, and part of the concrete slab to install an interior drain system with a pump to avoid future flooding. They have given us a 20-year guarantee against future flooding. This extensive work has affected our ability to serve missionaries at our best.

Please pray God will meet the $55,000 need. One church gave $2500 toward the need. I know God will provide.  If God leads you to help:

  1. You can mail your one-time gift for the Building Repairs to our office in the enclosed envelope. You can send your donation to: PO Box 725 Kings Mountain, NC 28086-0725

  2. You can give your gift online: wwntbm.com/give. Click the drop-down box and choose Building Repairs.

June 2023 Prayer Letter

June 2023

Dear Praying Friend,

I am grateful for an amazing Summer. Thank you for praying as I led the See the Harvest team.

Your giving and praying allowed our team to hand-deliver the Gospel into 38,400 homes to a population of over 110,000 people from 10.5 towns. We heard from four towns who asked for a bible study to be held in their town. We heard from many who were disturbed by the Gospel being delivered into their home through the mail slot in their door. Putting literature into mail slots, called letterboxing, is legally permissible.

Scotland needs the Gospel. I plan to organize another team to Scotland with See the Harvest next year. I led a team of over 20 people aged between 18-72 years old. If you have people who want to go, have them visit seetheharvest.com. We will have two teams next year. June 3-13, 2024 and June 17-27, 2024. Yes, we are accepting applications for one or both teams.

I met many people on the Scotland trip, yet Glenn stands out to me as the one about whom I should tell you. Glenn prayed three days before I met him. He told God since my grandmother died, no one has come around and spoken of you. Would You send someone to me? Because you gave and prayed. God sent me. Glenn received a clear plan of salvation.

Because you give and pray, the Gospel still works.

Yours for the harvest,

John O'Malley

Ministry Update - May - June 2019

Click here to Download the PDF of this letter

May-June, 2019

Dear Praying Friend,

You matter to our family. You pray. You give. We get to go with the Gospel, assist churches and missionaries, and make a difference for the cause of Christ. We owe you a debt of gratitude.

We found the months of May and June filled with God-appointed moments for our ministry in missions. Pictured below are five of WW families on deputation in a missions conference in Pigeon Forge, TN held at Freedom Baptist Church.

Five WWNTBM families in Pigeon Forge, tN

Five WWNTBM families in Pigeon Forge, tN

Because of your praying, we sensed God’s protection and provision in travel. During these two months I traveled twice to the West coast and traveled on the East coast to assist a church plant, help churches with leadership development, take part in an ordination of a man, and encouraged churches in their missions giving. Your praying moved the hand of God for us. Thank you. You prayed; we experienced His provision, protection, and good health.

Because of your giving, God met the needs in our life each month. Your support, gifts, and Kim’s employment at World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions helps our family stay full time in the work of Christ. There is not a gallon of gas purchased, books and materials used, or trips made to assist others without your giving. You gave; we saw God’s provision, blessing, and saw our needs met.

Because of your compassion, I stood with Pastors, assisted missionaries, encouraged the weary, lifted the down trodden, helped church members, preached the Gospel, saw people get saved, and watched as God called some to ministry. Your compassion gave us security, strength, and success.

Because of your interest in the Great Commission, I need you to pray. The first church I started in Grenada asked if we would come in July to honor the National Pastor who worked with us. We will help the church honor him and his wife. The couple, Milton and Evelyn Williams are both in their eighties and this is a divine moment for us to be a blessing. Will you pray God will meet this need for Kim and me? The tickets are $900.00 each. We had enough set aside to pay for almost one ticket. Can you help us? (We did not expect this request; so, we did not plan for it as they just called at the beginning of July to ask us to come the weekend of July 21, 2019.)

Because God is faithful, we trust Him. Because you are faithful, we help missionaries, churches, and young people get involved in the mission of God. Because of your compassion, giving, and continued interest, you inspire us to faithfulness. We are grateful to you.

Thank you for helping us serve in His harvest,

John and Kim O’Malley
